ANNOUNCING VIDEO PROJECT RE: TEN TRIBES OF ISRAEL
Steven M. Collins July 15, 2007
For years, many people have suggested that the production of a video re: the history of the ten tribes of Israel would be very worthwhile. I have agreed with this view, but funding limitations were always the key issue. Indeed, there have been previous such proposals and one "false start," but no such video yet exists. That may change before too long. A couple years ago, I was approached by two individuals who asked if I would be interested in working with them in putting together a video which would, essentially, tell in a video format the history of the ten tribes of Israel as presented in my books. I agreed that such an effort was an excellent idea and agreed to work with them. The first step was incorporation, and the new entity was incorporated as Lamp Fire Films. The second step was obtaining a 501(3) C status from the Internal Revenue Service in the USA. This process took over a year, but the 501(3) C status was granted recently. This is an important step as it permits donations to Lamp Fire Films to be tax-deductible on donors' income tax forms in the USA. Given that we live in a "visual" generation which wants to obtain its information on TV, videos, DVDs, the internet, etc., it is vital to produce a video about the history and modern locations of the ten tribes of Israel in order to reach a far wider audience with this information. Lamp Fire Films intends to produce other films and visual efforts in addition to the first film about the ten tribes of Israel as funding becomes available in the future. It is intended that production of the film will not begin until there is sufficient funding to enable Lamp Fire to produce a quality film, which would be suitable for showing on a national cable-TV network. Lamp Fire Films is a non-denominational and non-profit organization that is not affiliated with any church or any other organization. Lamp Fire Films is not a "church." It is going to be an independent film production firm which will work with members of any other churches, organizations, etc. which have a common interest in the subjects that will be pursued by Lamp Fire Films. I can state that Lamp Fire Films intends to work closely in the production of the first film (re: the ten tribes of Israel) with Britam, a Jerusalem-based organization which focuses on this same subject and which has published books about the ten tribes of Israel by Yair Davidy, an Israeli author. If you wish to assist Lamp Fire Films in producing such a video, you may make a tax-deductible donation to:
Lamp Fire Films P.O. Box 1416 Lebanon, MO 65536 USA
Lamp Fire Films' website is www.LampFireFilms.org, but since this organization has just begun, the website is still "under construction," so please be patient for the time being. Lamp Fire does not have any paid staff so all work is being done by volunteer effort. Individuals can now make donations at the site via PayPal. All donations received by Lamp Fire will go toward the production of the video about the ten tribes of Israel. Board members will not receive any compensation from such donated funds. Board Members of Lamp Fire Films are Tim Lindholm (Minnesota), Jim Difranco (New York) and me. As soon as sufficient funds are received, we intend to begin producing the video project. Script writing and some pre-production efforts can begin almost right away. On-site filming at historical locations in Israel is planned, and efforts in Israel will be coordinated with Britam, which is based in Jerusalem and has excellent contacts in Israel. We look forward to having Lamp Fire Films work with Britam in such an effort. We pray for God's favor on the project to make it a success and to "wake up" the public to the Israelite heritage of many Western nations.
